Are you back at work for the year?

Maybe your holiday break wasn’t long and your back in the thick of it?

Well I am in the same ball game as you, except there is currently no thick of it.

Currently our floor has scattered individuals who either had no vacation time left to take or didn’t consider that being in an office with a view that looks out onto the blue water would be fine.

Have you seen ‘I Love You, Man’?

If not, there is this scene where the two protagonists go to a place with the ‘best fish tacos’ around. Ever since my eyes saw those fish tacos I’ve been wanting them.

That place exists in Venice, California, a location that’s not just down the road from me. So I set about making some of my own, in my usual endeavor of foreign flavors.

I haven’t spoken about this again since that original post in February, but I have been finalizing up my book to send it off to agents.

In its very self, writing is something countless individuals do on this earth. Whether that be as a novelist or a poet.

So many want to be successful, only 1% succeed at being published.

That fact…that tiny number is daunting in itself.

I have always considered Pumpkin Soup to be southern hemisphere creation, I mean, Americans don’t eat pumpkin like we do. They carve them into faces or buy them canned to fill the crust of a pie.

And I haven't ever heard of eating pumpkin soup in Europe (although they may in fact do)

I thought I knew reasonably well that it was from a land that needs the hearty warmth of pumpkin in the depths of winter.

I was wrong!

One of the recent friends I made at a job I was doing is now roaming the globe and I have to say I miss her.

We were a crazy team together and that kind of work environment doesn’t occur too often.

I wouldn’t say I miss her singing the ‘It’s Friday’ song over and over, but with Friday my mind always turns to her and I wonder how she's doing wherever she may be.

The small art of borrowing an object, something that you have not obtained outright, but been given to use for a period always differs in results.

I’ve met countless people who refuse to lend anything out to anyone after too many failed changing of the hands.

I’m always a good lender, other then a small object that my brother long ago forgot I borrowed, I always return items. Let us say I’m keeping this object hostage for the betterment of my blog and my brother is actually lovely guy without the use of this.

The reason I’m talking about borrowing is because the images in today’s post are the result of my forgetfulness in packing to stay at a friend’s place and needing to ask kindly for a camera that is better then my iPhone (lets face it, the iPhone is no SLR in camera technology).

When I made this dish I ran around the kitchen trying to find an appropriate dish to serve it in for my final photograph.

Asking my friend who’s house I’m currently staying in to use a pretty little dish I found in her cupboard; she hesitated.

Taking the hesitation into account I immediately placed it back into the carefully chosen place  and looked for another pretty dish.

Her realization that it was just for the image made her say ‘yes you can use it.’ To my delight.

Once a few clicks had been made in some lovely lighting she shared the fact that the dish was genuine wedgewood.

It feels like only yesterday I wrote here that I obtained a temporary job and now I’m down to my last week, in fact, my last few days of what has been a good challenge in my repertoire of office work.

People you meet on the first day, those 1D people you know barely anything about become 3D people rather quickly and soon there’s more individuals being left behind.

Sometimes a good cleanse of health is necessary not only for a clearer body, but for a clearer mind.

With so much eating out of late, a trip to the grocery store resulted in carrots staring at me with that 'pick me' look. 'I'm good for you, far better for you, then that fast food and sweets you've ingested far too much of recently.'

Alas, I gave in and bought them.

What better way to cleanse then soup. There's a punch of vegetables. A dousing of water. Herb's and spices in the stock. It's a fusion of ingredients with a delicious result. It's a science experiment gone right.

A few days ago, I received a phone call from my recruitment agent who advised me of a temporary job, which was obtained within twenty four hours of that call. Six weeks is not the permanence I was seeking for the required move that still hasn’t happened.

It’s as though life is telling me what I already know, I’m not meant to stay here, maybe I was never meant to be here in this country.

In this location in the first place.

While I am, however, I will try wholeheartedly to find joy in whatever circumstances life confronts me with.
