For the last month I’ve been planning this post, my favorites carefully selected, but when I think of all the things I’ve made this year I’m actually a little lost for words.
While I did not actually do a lot of roaming this year, I did manage to re-visit many of the countries I’ve stepped foot in with a little bit of food attempted from each.
I’ve also made many things that were previously rumbling around in my head or I found on a page or website somewhere and it sounded too good to pass up trying.
This time a week ago I finished writing my first novel.
While people the world over were celebrating their love for each other over Valentines dates filled with hearts of different colors.
I spent the evening writing.
I can't tell you how long it took me to write and evolve this story and it certainly wasn't my first attempt, but I finished it.
I know there are some people who say they hate change, personally, I don't know any different. Today marks fourteen years since my life changed forever and somehow it hasn't really stopped since.
I've thought about how best to say this from the first post on here. I've spent my entire life, lived it every moment and it has basically defined me - wanting to live somewhere else.
'If it's not scary, it's not fun.'
The wedding was beautiful.
It was a garden wedding set under pine trees on either side and being a rather unsummery summer, the wind was up and it snowed pine needles during the ceremony. The reception was an evening filled with jars of candy, fairy lights and good conversation with old friends.
Inspiration has led me here and I wish to follow its winding road due to life's changing numbers.
I turn 25 next week.
Its as though two big black clouds are hanging over my head and they're shaped two five. Some people live by the attitude that age is just a number, but I am a January baby and January babies are different. Our new age begins with a new year and new year's begin with reflection of who we are, where we are, who we want to be and how to get where we want to be going.
So where exactly would I like to be going...this path that has involved what I calculated recently as 20+ flights to different destinations in the America's (and one short trip to Asia) in the past five years.
I am a wanderer and this reputation is now preceding me.
Through my wanderings; explorations of various cultures, lands and places, I have discovered food.
Food I didn't know about.
Food with a history.
Food that makes you feel like superman/woman.
Food that makes your tastebuds scream for more.
Inspiration of cultures has lead me here and I want to inspire you to taste what Ive tasted.
Each week I want to make one thing I've tried on my travels. I also want to write about food that takes my breath away, the laden plates I've discovered in my own surroundings.
Where do I really want to be going...home.
That may take a while so I'm going to begin here.
